Dear Cavalier Community,

Welcome August!

It is with great pleasure that I welcome every returning and new Cavalier to the 2024-2025 school year in Carrollton Public Schools, where all are invited to Experience the Cavalier Difference!  As I have finished my second year as your  Superintendent, I remain honored to lead and be a part of such an amazing school community.

On behalf of all members of our district staff, our Board of Education, and myself, I want to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for the continued support that you have provided to our schools. Your commitment, dedication, and partnership to the education and well-being of our students is the Cavalier Difference!  We are truly grateful for you, the Carrollton community.

I am incredibly proud of the progress we have made thus far, but as a team, we believe there is always room for improvement and there is always an opportunity to strengthen the whole child experience.  Therefore, we are committed to going above and beyond to build upon our successes and address any challenges that arise. We will #Build Stronger Together with our families and the community, and we will change the trajectory for every student by creating a safe place to learn and grow.  Our focus will remain on building positive relationships that lay the foundation for improved student achievement, enhanced professional practice, and strong family and community partnerships.

Each year is an opportunity to build even greater connections and relationships among all members of our community.   Community Forums will continue this year starting in October.  This is a great way for families and community members to share ideas and learn about the district with the Superintendent.  In addition, the elementary and middle schools have a PTA (Parent Teacher Association).  This, too, serves as a way for parents to become involved and support the district mission with our principals.  Further, Board meetings are held monthly in the Carrollton High School library at 6:30 pm.  Again families and the community can use this as an opportunity to deepen their understanding about how our Board makes decisions for our district.  As always, we invite parents to talk with building administrators, meet with teachers and schedule time to visit classrooms. Doing this helps to build the home-school partnership that is critical to the success of every student.

I encourage all students and families to attend our District-wide Open House on Thursday, August 22, 2024, from 3:00 - 6:00 pm, where we officially welcome every Cavalier to the 2024-2025 school year!  During this time, you will have the opportunity to meet our outstanding teachers, tour our beautiful buildings, and experience the Cavalier Pride we have all come to know and love.  This will also be a great time to see our new Esports lab at Carrollton High School, the CAVS Cave, which is a student center at Carrollton Middle School, our two-way window coverings, a new safety feature outfitted across the entire district, and so much more! Please be sure to save the date! I would love the opportunity to talk with you!

Again, thank you for your ongoing support and dedication to our students and staff. I look forward to continuing to work with all of you to make Carrollton Public Schools the best choice, a great place for students, staff and families to learn, work, and  grow.  Best wishes to every Cavalier for an awesome school year!  I can’t wait to see every student on the first day of school, Monday, August 26, 2024.

With sincere Cavalier Pride,
